As one might expect, Lowes will sell you anything, that doesn't mean they know anything about the product, so Mr. Bartlett was kinda stuck with a bunch of ceiling panels and no help or advice about how to install them.

The product was from Acoustic Ceiling Products (ACP), a thermo-plastic panel (2ft x 4ft), that mimics the old style tin ceiling treatment of times past. I got online and started checking the product out, figured out the installation procedure (glue-up) that would work. I then gave Mr. Barlett an estimate and when my schedule allowed, I installed it. The Barlett home is a rather new home and they had never textured or painted the ceiling in the kitchen, this made installing much easier.

While the product looks almost identical to the real Mc Coy, I believe ACP could change a few things, on the installation design. The product overlaps, where I believe for the glue-up method it should have some type of interlocking system. Overall the project turned out very well.

I  met Fred in Lowes one day, He was looking for info on how to install some plastic ceiling panels, I gave him a card and told him I would check it out for him.
